FWIW they are still chasing does
Hunted the last few days in Shenandoah Co. and if there are any questions about rut activity still be on the answer is yes (at least there). I saw no less then 5 different bucks running does all morning yesterday and that included when the winds were gusting at 20 MPH. That included a wide variety of bucks ranging from spikes to 8 pointers.

It was a little slow in Fauquier last week, but picked up over the weekend and this week. FWIW, have seen lots of cruising midday.

Re: FWIW they are still chasing does
They have shut it down the last two days. We have seen bands of does with no bucks present. Also saw one 8 point who was working the thick cover on his own with no ladies. I'm guessing the plug has been pulled and nothing is going on. IMO, the early muzzleloader season has provided enough pressure near where I hunt that most of the bucks have gone nocturnal. In fact most of the does have done the same. We have food plots that aren't being touched and I mean good food plots.
