Repeat of last year????
All the fruit trees in Bedford are in bloom, now the temperature will dip into the 20's tonight and tomorrow night. I don't know how this will affect the oaks. But last year was the worst I've ever seen for mast....no acorns, no fruit. Then a hard winter, and the pics I have of deer on trailcams are some of the worst looking deer I've seen coming out of winter. Are we in for a repeat of no mast with these freezes coming in? If we end up with drought this summer I think it may be the end of a lot these famished deer.

Have seen more daytime deer activity at all times in the last month than ever before. I dont think we got as cold as predicted here and some breeze as well so may have dodged a bullet.

I think the wet weather last spring had more to do with the lack of mast. As I understand it, it was too wet for the oaks to pollinate. Fruit however was in jeopardy last nite and maybe again tonite
