 Happy dad Well my daughter Brandy who is 17 decided she wanted to give hunting a try this year  So we went squirrell hunting and she killed her first squirrell. She had to get the apprentice license due to she hasnt had her hunters safety and i found out that she can participate in the early youth hunts but found this out after the youth deer hunt. Last saturday was youth fall turkey and we have been seeing plenty so we thought we give it a try. Brandy learned that you see these birds the days before but not on the special youth day. So this morning we decided to hunt out of a blind that i have set up earlier this week. At 8 we had a big doe within 20 yds but wouldnt come into a clear shooting lane. When we left the truck this morning it was 26 degrees so Brandy was getting very cold and asking how much longer are we staying? I said lets stay to 915 and we will go. Then i looked out of the side window of the blind and here comes a buck. i tell Brandy to get the crossbow up on the shooting stick and get ready. The 7pt walked right out in front of the blind at 15 yds and Brandy got her first deer! Ive been after Brandy to hunt for years and never thought i would see this day so you could only imagine what this meant to me! Doug
