Went out Friday afternoon and got a doe. Was fortunate to do so since I got in late and a doe caught me half way up climbing. I am sitting on my rail of my climbing stand and hear something. I freeze and a doe walks under me, 5 yards to my right. Then a button buck walks past her. I am pinned down and can't move. The doe goes back the way she came and a few minutes later the fawn follows. I stand, turn and they are gone. I finish the climb and pull up my bow. Ten minutes later a doe walks down the same path and I shoot her at 5 steps. She runs 50 yards and piles up. Don't know if it was the same deer or a different one. Guess I was lucky. This is the 4th deer I have shot from this tree. I like it. Hope everyone else is having a great season! Vic |

Congratulations again on a great hunt. Meat in the freezer. How do you get your deer cut up? Steaks, sausage, jerky etc. Earl |

I cut them up myself. I do roasts, steaks, sausage, and jerky, depends what I need most. We also can alot of venison for later use in stews. We were short on roasts so this one is roasts. Next one will be probably turned into sausage, excepting the back straps of course. |
