Thought the birds were splitting up but today we saw 3 toms and about 8-10 hens.
All last week we only saw 1-2 hens with these toms, maybe the cool weather made them gang up.
Gonna be tuff here Saturday if they have all those hens with them.

Got me thinking the same. But will be there and let the turkeys tell me what is up and adjust accordingly, hopefully what they want to hear.

Don't discourage about the toms being henned up quite yet. The hens aren't being very receptive now in my neck of the woods which granted is in southside va 4 hrs away. This weather being all over the place (i'm a full time student at Radford University) so i know how the weather's been up here in the mountains. Its crazy right? but anyhow don't think its gonna be a horrible season. Yeah, this may sound a little crazy but get after them birds with all them hens. Like I said hens aren't letting it happen right now, wit a good decoy set up and some good call sequences you will pull that thunder chicken right into the barrel. I pulled a gobbler off several hens this past Saturday for my little brother with no time to set up decoys and just threw some aggressive calling at him. Took some time but got him in range.
