Post TN Youth Season was a good one
It's been a while since I have been on the page, Its good to be back. I look forward to seeing post and stories this upcoming season.

I wanted to share a few photos of the youth season in TN for my son Brysen and his buddy John Avery.

Saturday morning was a cold (29 degrees), frosty one with as much gobbling as I've heard in several years in one day. This day it was myself and Brysen. We got set up plenty early and it wasn't long the gobbling started and then they started pitching into the field. We seen two LBs way down the field about 400 yards with hens in the field behind us. The gobblers made a b-line to the hens and I though oh no, it could be a long sit. Once they got to the hens to our delight they started filtering our way. Once the LBs got in site of our set up, it was on! The coolest part of the hunt was the steam coming out of their mouths when they were gobbling and purring. Once in range, Brysen made a great shot to take his second ever bird. It was 24.35#, 10.5 beard, with one spur being 1 3/8.The other spur was broke off to an inch.

Sunday morin we went back to our farm, with his buddy JA. JA has never tagged a bird and was super pumped to try his luck. This morning was not nearly the roost gobbling the morning before had, but we heard a few. After fly down things went quite for a while, so we moved on a bird we heard gobble earlier in the morning. To say the least, a move with two 10-year-olds didn't pan out. We went and grab a quick breakfast and decided to go back to the original set up. Minutes after getting settled in I called and got an answer. A few minutes later there were 7 jakes that came off the hill. These two boys did a great job in doubling up and created a memory they will always remember. In my years of hunting this weekend will go down as one of the best so far!

I look forward to following the page this season.

Good going Jon and Bryson. Not a surprise to see this report as Bryson has killed some birds before . But l know his pal Avery was thrilled., as he should be.

Jon is the cousin of WVBoy -Randy. He has been on this Board a long time but doesn't post often although he is a tremendous hunter and has been very successful on turkey for decades. He was with WVBoy in Mississippi earlier in the month.

Jon sent me a picture of Bryson's huge bird from the field, and another when they weighed it . No question it was legitimate weight. Quite an impressive bird .

Good luck for the rest of the season Jon and Bryson.
