Post Looking for a little wisdom.
Hello Ladies and Gents,

I am recently stationed back home here in VA and looking to get back into hunting after many years away from VA and traveling with the military. It has been well over a decade since I have hunted Turkey with my uncle and he has passed a little over a year ago. Now that I am home and my hunting buddy is gone I am looking to go solo for Turkey but would like to ask for some direction on where would be best to start scouting. I am originally from the peninsula and am living in the Spotsylvania area now. I am not asking for your secret spot but if you could point me in the direction of where to start looking I would be very appreciative. I have been looking at maybe starting in Pettigrew WMA. I am not worried about driving an hour or more if you could suggest a spot that is good.

John

John, thank you for your service, Two good public areas are AP Hill and MCB Quantico.

Welcome to the forum and sorry for your loss. Wish I could help but know nothing about hunting that side of the state.

GreyGhost thank you for the pointer. I am finally in town again and able to get out there. Scott thank you for the condolences, he was a tough Vietnam vet that spent his time hunting all year and all around the country.
