His wrinkled hands shook me gently awake along with a soft whisper of “Freddy, wake up! It’s time to go!” I jumped out of bed with excitement. It’s a miracle I was even able to fall asleep last night.

There it is again!I keep hearing some unusual rustling in the leaves over the crest of the ridge. Moments pass and from the location of the rustling- “Yelp, Yelp, Yelp.” Why is that hen on the ground already? It’s way too early for that, and plus, I didn’t even hear her fly down. Did something spook her? “WHO-WHO-WHO-WHO—WHO-WHO-WHO-WHOOO.” Wow! That owl is right on top of that poor hen. “Yelp, Yelp, Yelp.” Why is she yelping when that owl is right there? She’s going to end up owl breakfast. “Caw-Caw-Caw-Caw.” Great, now some crows have joined in! … Wait a minute! Something a little suspicious is going on over there! I think I’m just going to slip on out of here and find somewhere else to go.
