Tenn's poult/hen ratio has been 3.8 to 4.6 every year for the last ten except one year when it was 2.8. I cannot believe the population in Va will get very far in growth with the kind of low poult/hen ratio described in the article. Think how bad it would have been if the fall hunting in Va was still under the old regs you used to have up there . Tenn is playing a bit "dicey" I think with the fall hunting , despite the use of quota's, because there is a huge loophole for fall hunting for "landowners" who are exempt from the quota's. I think Tenn's season kills in the spring will take a hit soon....the birds are about everywhere they can be and still have a chance to survive, so now the season kills become a function of increasing presure and weather. Some of hte Tenn counties have incredible growth in the turkey population , wit h the home county of GS1946 and Shopson being right up there at the top.
