Has anyone seen any poults yet? As it stands now what do you think the hatch will be like in your area? Do you think the hard rain on the last day of hunting season will affect any poults all ready hatched as it is cooling off a little?

Ifthis cool stretch with rain catches chicks that are less than a week old, those poults are probably in deep trouble. Biologists tell me the hen can cover some but not all of the 12-16 chicks for a rainy period..ones that get wet will ikely die , particularly in 40 degree rainy/windy conditions. Fact of life. Maybe they have not hatched yet, maybe the young hens will bring on a good batch later.
