Well ya'll....Hody & I are off to Amherst in the am to chase a few Toms around.....Dont know what will happen but I know we each will see at least one turkey.....Each Other...lol...Just kidding Hody.......Its bed time!...Later all!

What I should have said was look out for the WIND!!.. Hody will attest..any bird that flew off the roost in Amherst this am is in richmond right now..LOL... It howled this am.... But I had a great time with a great guy!...Hody ...we will do it again buddy!

Well for a follow up we just about got blown off the mountain but not by gobbles but the 20 mph wind. Weather man said 5-10 mph boy was he wrong. We had a great time and actually heard one faint gobble, but that was it. Did some blind calling and then just walked around a few ridges trying to strike one. I can honestly say one thing, and that is that we had a good time and there is nothing like sharing woodsmanship and friendship on a hunt no matter what the outcome. We could have stayed in bed, but we got out there after em. Hey you know the saying a bad day of hunting is better than a good day at work!!!! Good luck to everyone the last few days. |
