Knight, I want to thank you. This post got me out of bed this am. When the alarm went off at 4, GOOOOO TEAM!!!!!!! ran thru my head, no kidding. Turned out to be the best morning of my Virginia season. I was fortunate to get one from the JNF in Montgomery County this am. 18 lbs 1 oz, 8 1/4 in beard, spurs, R3/4 L5/8. If you had not posted these words of encouragement, my tired, sore and worn out bones would probably have stayed in bed! Thanks again! P.S. he was with 4 of his buddies, no hens....only heard 3 gobbles total this am. saw one hen on nest. |

Congrats Big bird. Did he come in gobbling, or just quietly sneak in?? I know what you mean about getting out of bed. When I got up at 3:30 the other mornig to a 20 mph wind, I wanted to go back to bed to, but I could not let my partner Max down. |

Hody, I heard a gobble from his directon at 6:40 and 7:20 but not a peep once I set up. Right after I called, I heard walking on the other side of the ridge. He and his buddies showed themselves at 60 yards and just sort of made their way up toward me feeding. I almost had a heart attack waiting on them/him... |
