I hunt in Ohio, It's probably not infested with turkeys like Va. but anyways every year were I hunt after the 2nd week of season the birds just shut up. I am hunting in a secluded area were receives little to no hunting pressure. Is this because the breeding is over? but I still see hens even called in a few his past weekend in 2 days. I do like everyone says and set up were I seen turkeys and even taken turkeys before, and call very little and wait them out but the toms don't show. It just seems like if you don't fill your tags the first week you don't get another chance. Should I relocate to a different county, maybe north were they havn't finished breeding? I know this season was strange the weather had alot to do with it, but it's the same every year. Please give me some input I'll be heading back down to my hunting spot ( 3 hour drive) or relocate to a new spot. I am a very dedicated turkey hunter and get birds most every year but usually in the first week. Input on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Mike/Ohio |

Mike, if the hens are still there then stay with it. Check out what the others are saying about calling and staying put for a while. The birds will come. |
