Okay... Here are the cookout details...

Cookout will be on June 8th. We can't get the area at the State Park like we had last year. We have another area a little closer to Roanoke- Pine Spur Hunt Club. It's just east of Roanoke on Route 24 in Bedford County. They have an indoor facility with a kitchen, bathrooms, etc. I'll get a map and post it here. I guess we will try to eat about 1:00 but some of us will get there early to help set things up.

I think we need to make a list of what people can bring. We had a list going a while back but let's try to put everything in this one. I know that Hody is going to bring his Turkey Cooker and deep fry a bird. :) I guess we need people to bring hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, drinks, ice, chips, buns (hamburger & hotdog), potatoe salad (if anyone wants too), plates, utensils, napkins, salt & pepper, and condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, onions, cheese).

I plan on bringing my grill and if someone else could bring 1 more that would be good. I'm going to make a list and edit it as people volunteer to bring something...

hamburgers - Scott
hotdogs - Freddy
buns (hamburger & hotdog) - sixshot
chili - Amy
turkey & cooker - Hody
drinks - Scott
ice - Max
chips - sixshot
potatoe salad - David B.
cole slaw - David B.
plates, utensils, napkins - David B.
salt & pepper -
condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese) -
grill - Freddy
Deer meat - Max
COOKIES! - David B.

Tell me what I forgot...

Freddy,
I've got a Buck Lick vest with the seat in it. I'll throw in the prize jar if wanted. You know the kind with the nylon seat that you slide out of when setting up on a turkey while on a hill?! HaHa!

Guys and Gals. I really want to come but my in-laws are having a yard sale that day and my wife want's me to help them. My father in law had back surgery 2 weeks ago and he will not be able to lift anything. I live in Salem, they live in Covington. I'm still trying to work something out.
If I don't make it, I hope everyone has a blast.
I know I did at last years cook out.

Hody. Can you deep fry a skinned bird?

Kevin, a few guys told me that they did deep fry a skinned bird, and that it just left a thick outer coating on it. I have never tried it, but I am sure I will sometime. Let me know how it turns out if you try it. PS hope you work something out, and can make it to the cookout!!!!

I wish I could make the cookout, but I will be in Canada that week. I do a float plane trip 1st week of June every year in northern Quebec for walleye, pike, lakers, and brook char. Maybe next year the cookout could be a week later? Hope you all have a fantastic time. Congrats to all on a safe and successful season.
