Hey everyone! I feel like I haven't been able to post in forever. Between traveling, Master's classes and finals, and work I hardly have time to read any post. I want to congratulate everyone on their turkeys. I normally like to do it on each post, I just think it is nice to tell someone congrats when they take a bird but I haven't been able to lately. So CONGRATS to Ya'll!
My season has been tough and great at the same time. I am all over birds all of the time, but I have had difficulty closing the deal. I don't get to hunt as much as I would like but school will be over soon. I have managed to call in seven birds for myself and others which two of them my gun didn't go so I employed the catch and release method and my dad missed a nice longbeard this weekend. I was hunting Kentucky on a friend, who runs a striper guide business, he has 1000 acre deer lease. It has some good turkey hunting he let me just have it for three days. To say the least I was thankful. I also was able to call in a bird for a guy to get his first Eastern this weekend. (20 lbs, 10 inch beard, and 1 1/16 inch spurs)That was worth its wait in gold he was so excited.
I'll be finishing up the VA season this next couple of weeks. My hunt club is like hunting the public birds I learned to hunt on just way to much pressure, but hopefully it will come together for me. None the less I am not complaining! I have had a great year. Mostly I just wanted to congratulate everyone on their birds, and apologize for not getting an individual congrats out to each of you. |
