Hunted every day this past week in the Garden State. (NJ) Why do these dang Hens keep stealing my Gobbler? Every set-up I engaged in was trashed by intercepting Hens. None of these boys are alone yet. I watched one Big Boy all week that had five hens with him. My best day was this morning. I called in three jakes off the roost and watched them for 15 minutes. The Whole time they were within 20 yards. Shortly after, I ran into my first lonely boy all week. Worked him for 30 minutes and had him just outside 50 yards for most of the time. Talk about hanging up. Man he had my juices flowing! I do believe someone has been messin with that bird. He's a real Brute. At least I've still got 4 more weeks to play with him. |
