Been working this bird all season. Got above him, got below him, level with him, etc. Found a little field in the woods I never knew about until the other day. The ol' wheels started turnin' and I thought what the heck, My hind end is getting used to being spurred by him. So I snuck in and set up, no decoys. These birds are really hunted hard by guys on four wheelers so I tried "deer hunting" for turkeys this morning. After about 30 minutes I called a bearded hen to my set-up. I was using a old push-pin call that purrs awful pretty. So anyway, she walks off and I think "cool". After about two more hours a deer decides she likes the grass to my left and I watch her for about ten minutes. I turn my head to the right and WHOA!! Ol' Ben Ladin looking right at me! He's got a buddy with him. Heard no gobbling, drumming, nothing!! He's looking hard about twenty five yards away. Anyway, he calms down and starts to peck and feed and I raise my gun up, and put red between green and BOOM!! Ben Ladin Is turkey sandwich today. What a great hunt!!! One thing I've learned this year Is that it DON'T always work like a huntin movie and never givin in!! They don't have to gobble to kill em'. Sorry so long but i'm pumped!!

Turk,
No, I live in Bluefield Va. We've got a little lake place at Palmers Marina in Penhook.

Tscott,
I haven't been on Brushy lately. The birds are driving me crazy enough here, much less 20 miles away. Post when your going and I'll do my darndest to go. Good Luck

Hey, thanks guys!! Your posts and tips helped me get that bird! So pat your backs to.

That bird was my pawpaws, he passed away Thurs. night after a long battle. I could hear him whistlin' haulin' that bird out. Thanks again!!Good Luck!!
