I am from illinois and stuck on the US Marine Corps base, Quantico Virginia for eight more weeks. Am a avid turkey hunter and hear Virginia is a good state. can anybody give me some advice on what i need as far as license and recommend a good spot. Not looking to hord in on anybody's turkey hole just trying to get a 1 two day hunt.Am a NWTf member if it is worth anything. Thanks! |

You are stationed at a good spot. Read the post regarding Quantico MCB earlier this week. Probably as good a place as any as far as public land goes. |

TAWiL.... your license for a non-resident is going to be the following..... Nonresident Hunting.... $60.00 if you want a 3 day license... $30 Plus you will need a Nonresident bear, deer, turkey license which is also $60.00 they also sell a 3 day license for this for $30 The license can be picked up at local sporting good stores & Wal-mart. You can also call Basspro or go online to get it. They will give you a # and you can carry it until your license arrives. Good luck to ya', let us know how it goes. Scott |

Thanks TscottW99. Am finding out that the license aspect is not to difficult but the politics on the marine base may be difficult to overcome. hate to pay to hunt but does anybody know a good guide service in the quantico area....that is reasonable on prices. |
