Well - I blew it this a.m.
Hunted Tues & Wed and the gobbler got with the hens and never came in. However, this am - thought it was going to be more of same. Called and no answer. Spotted a jake coming in and raised up the gun. Just about then, the big-boy was strutting about 50 yards away. Froze as long as I could (seemed like hours) and the jake finally saw me -putted and jake and big-tom flew the coupe. Was a great experience and I'll try again tomorrow. I think these turkeys were with hens as it was about 7:30 when they finally came in (and without any gobbling no less). |
