Went out this morning and heard one gobble. That's it. Dont know what the situation was to cause this, but i hunted till nearly 9 before i had to leave to make it to class and heard one. I'm pretty sure he was on the roost as it was just after 6, and he only gobbled once. I was hunting near the Montgomery-Craig County line. Anyone else have any trouble hearing them up that way? |

Mitch...on Rt 460 right at the top of Blacksburg mountain there is a forest service road to the left just as you crest the mountain heading west. Give that area a try. The forest service road runs along the ridge top. Good vantage point to hear some gobbling. |

I've been hunting the forest in Craig County and have heard birds both times. Opening morning I believe it was 4-5 gobblers and then on Monday it was about the same. |

Hunted the forest on Tuesday and heard one bird once on the roost. Going out tomorrow (Friday) to the forest (Rockingham County). Will keep you all posted. PG |
