Great Forum! For the last 5 years I've hunted in Surry Co and have always found birds to work, but this year they're everywhere. I heard 10 on Saturday. Got 3 longbeards to come in, but they kept a thicket between us and I just couldn't get a good head shot. Worked another bird later in the morning, but that didn't work out. After 2 hours of chess I decided to circle and try to get above him. You guessed it, I flushed him. This morning, I had to set in the truck and ride a T-storm out. Got in the woods as it was cracking light. Heard a couple birds, but the ongoing rain hushed them. After the skies cleared, the gobblers went nuts and I had two try to run me over. One left, but the bird with the 11 inch beard decided he'd come home with me for dinner. Another thing different this year is that I haven't heard a single hen (not that I'm complaining). From what the weatherman said, tomorrow morning is going to be near perfect gobbling weather. You can bet I'll be out taking advantage of these henless toms!

Sounds great Ken, I wouldn't mind getting a piece of that action myself. I plan to take my first hunt in Surry. Best of luck tomorrow.
