I've not got to go out. Have made plans, but to no avail.
I did hoot in a number of areas a couple of evenings ago, but none of them seemed up to gobbling back.
Have a buddy, who said he heard one, and only one, gobble once, and only once on Saturday morning.

I've been hearing birds every morning on the roost and have been having luck getting a few to answer a crow call on the ground. Have not heard any in the evenings even though I am positive they were close enough to hear a hoot. One strolled through the woods behind the house at about 10:00 AM yesterday and gobbled his head off, probably 50 to 75 times. He answered everything; crow call, blue jays, passing vehicles, and even my attempts to start the lawn mower. That's an update from up the road in Tazewell County.

Brushy Mountain in Bland County is silent, from the looks of all the scratching the're to tired or to busy to gobble.Hopefully the warmer weather this week will be just what we need.Hey Sixshot-come back over and Max and I will teach you the silent gobble.

Hey r-cart, I should have watched your turkey hunting prowess more instead of looking at all that turkey horning! HeeHee! I betcha they were gobbling on bloomer ridge this morning. Hey no kidding, I had a blast this weekend even though no turkeys. Might come back over with Steve on Sat. I'll bring more tenderloin.

Well I hit Washington Co. tonight and had one gobbling about 10 time in about 5 mins. i'm so ready for season now. Come on April 13!! A big gobbler on the 13th would be a great 25th b-day present for me.
