How many can do this call on their mouth calls and PLEASE give me some advice (pretty please with sugar on top ) I have it down on my tube call, I think. Have been trying forever on my mouth calls and to put it mildly... it's SAD! Made a hen REALLY mad last year by mocking her cackle and other calls on a slate type call but still can not do the call on a mouth call. thanks for any advice. |

Scott: Not sure I can tell you how. I just practiced until I got it down. Obviously you have to shorten and speed up your breaths for the first 5-6+ notes, then just slide right into sharp agressive hen yelps. Myself, I have a tough time making a fly-down that sounds good on a slate or box. I can cut good on a slate and box. I do think the importance of the fly-down is somewhat over-emphasized. Some good aggressive hen yelps will usually produce the same result. Good luck and practice...practice. |

Hello Scott,I can do it on mouth calls better than the box or slate. The way I do it on the mouth call, is start with a slow kit,kit then speed up with a cat, cat, cat, cat then end with a couple of sharp yelps. This method seems to work ok for me hope it helps some.
