Howdy all
Yesterday on the way back from the Homestead my fiancee spied a flock of gobblers within 50 yards of highway 39 in Bath county. That's right; we stopped the car, drove back and watched five longbeards ease off over a little rise. They gave a few putts as they walked off but didn't seem too alarmed. 50 yards later we passed a posted sign and a couple of miles later came to the National Forest Boundary. Too bad for me, or I know where I'd be headed on opening morning.
Anybody else seeing flocks of gobblers together?

A couple of weeks ago during all the rain here in Bedford County, I spotted about 11 Jakes with just a couple hens in a field near our house. |

I saw five out in the fairway at one of the golf courses there at the Homestead two weeks ago. |
