Tnwoodsman of Unicoi County and myself spent the morning riding and scouting in East Tennessee. We saw a nice thick bearded tom dancing on a hens back. Glad I had a witness! |

In the last week I 've seen everything but the act. You are correct in your assessment. Course this was as predictable as the sun coming up. This warm rainy-weather will green up the woods a little and then it realy gets right. Curious as to approximartely what elevation you observed your birds? |

Sea level wise, I couldn't tell you, but they were in a field at the foot of the mountain. |

It seem's to me that it's a little early for all this, but here in CT in the last two days I have seen two longbeards strutting with 13 hens and another longbeard with 17 hens working their way across a field. We still have six weeks before the season starts. |

I saw two flocks IN THE SAME FIELD on Sunday and the birds were Strutting and a few were chasing each other. Bad news is that it is a NO HUNT AREA!!!! |

Been hearing them on a regular basis. Saw a jake on sunday morning. He whould half gobble and yelp really loud he was looking for a fight. There were a tolal of five(5) birds that where gobbling there that I heard. Some have that long deep gobble this is the old ones I hope. Jon |
