Hey TS
I'm shooting the same. I love my ol' 500. I just screwed the choke on this year. Putting 40-45 pellets in the head and neck from 35 yds. I tried some different sizes and makes of shells also. My best groups came from Winchester Supremes #6. Speaking of Mossberg 500's, do you have trouble finding chokes like me? Seems that all I find are for 835's.

Ill be taking my Reflex Extreme twin cam bow to the spring woods for the fourth year in a row.It is equipped with Goldtip carbon arrows topped of with 100 Rocket Sledgehammers,my draw length is 29.5in and draw weight for Turkey is set at 58 lbs.If i keep up with my practicing ill be able to hit one in the head out to 15yds and good on body shots out to 25yds.I wont shoot any further than that, thats my limit.I use a variaty of mouth and friction calls .love my littleduce from huntersspecility,a compact slate with good range of sound.I wear both mossyoak and realtree camo.I have a homemade blind, burlap and dowel rods, works great.I use feather flex decoys when i use decoys.JMF

Browning Pump with conventional (fixed) extra full choke. I don't have a micrometer and don't have a clue about the choke dimensions, but it will lay 'em low. My brother is a machinist and he bored out a 2-3/4 extra tight-choked trap barrel to 3-inch chamber and also lengthened the forcing cone. I remember he said the choke is extra tight?..AND I missed a bird at 10 steps last year - easy to do with those tight chokes guys. Only the 2nd bird I've ever missed with that gun. I know it sounds like a rig for sure, but it has outshot every "screw-in" choke barrel and tube I've tried. I can't seem to get away from using that gun. I shoot Federal #4's.

I'll be toting a single-side, homemade mahogany box call made from 50-year old instrument (mandolin) wood cured over a woodstove (sweetest rasp you've ever heard). I'll have a 2nd homemade box -- cedar lid and sourwood base (my young hen--very different tone). Also a M.A.D. glass slate call with a hickory striker, and those Primos diaphram calls I won in Freddy's contest last year (don't remember what they are but man they are sweet and I've tossed the Q-Boys for good).

sixshot.... you do see a lot of the 835 chokes around in your local stores.... midwest, turkeyhuntingstore, wingsupply and nite lite have a pretty good supply of the 500 tubes.

TS.. the choke I'm shooting will fit The 500,but the package said it was for Browning Invectors. I was just wondering if the Brownings and the 500's are a universal fit? I was leery when I bought it so I kept the reciept(Momma taught me well), The tube fit good and throws a mean amount of lead. The porting really cut down on the recoil as well.

The Browning Invector & Mossberg 500 and the Win Choke are all threaded the same and are a universal fit (at least that's what I've been told) My package also said Invector/Win/Moss500. I gave Dad the other choke I had which my gun didn't care for and he uses it in his Winchester.

Mossberg Model 834 231/2 in barrel Super full Turkey Choke, 3" #5. It is covered in Mossy Oak Breakup Camo, I would love to dip it but have the die-cut tape. It has trodded with me for the past 10 years. If I got a new gun I still think I would use my old Mossberg.

My trusty old Mossberg 500a full choke pump. No camo, just black and brown. Original sight as well. Been using it for 12 years and it hasn't failed me yet. I use Federal copper plated 3" magmum #4's as well. Nothin fancy, just hits em hard. Kevin

Either a Benelli SBE, or a Knight TK2000, whichever feels lucky to me that day. One kills about as good as the other.

Daddyjan-I shoot golden tip carbon arrows too, with 100gr broadhead and I love'em. I can't imagine getting a spring gobbler with it. Talk about patience and resolve. Good luck to you.

I use a 1187 with hastings extra full choke, Win 3"HV 4s (though I may switch to 5s)

Either my Hoyt UltraTec or my Browning BPS 10 gauge. It shoots Win Supreme #5's the best. I've made some handloads up to try with copper plated #4's. If they shoot better, then I'll shoot the handloads. It has a TruGlo turkey choke that sends very tight patterns. I patterned it out to 50 yards with over 20 pellets in the head and neck, but never shot a tom over 30 yards.
