Anybody ever heard of wearing panty hose for seed tick prevention. Sam Venable writes a column in the Knoxville paper..he says a fellow named Bower has started wearing them to keep the ticks off(at least that is what he is telling his wife). Bower is an excellent hunter and this is not a joke.Says he has never had a tick problem since he started and that he has found some made fro men whcih have a fly in the front...I just thought I'd pass on what all these forward thinking Tennesseans are up to. I guess y'all been doing this for years? For ticks, I mean.

I'd pay premium bucks for the treated camo clothing before I'd be caught in pantyhose!

I hope I never find out that one of my buddies has been wearin' 'em!

Seriously, since I started wearing pants a few inches too long and tucking them into my boots, I've not had a problem. I also use a good quality repellant.

GN: Well I guess I'll be the first to acquire Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever or Lymes Disease!! My wife would never let me live it down if I went hunting in pantyhose. She'd tell everyone!! Also, I'd slide down the tree to the bottom of the hollow in the hill country I hunt. I'd have to tie my rump to the butt of the tree. GN, did this guy think wearing pantyhose made him think more like a woman...er...I mean hen?! LOL.

'Picker, you may be on to something about the real motivation. Bowers could fill a truck with the birds he has killed so this is nto some nut, as he is a real good woodsman...did you read the article?

I've been wearing ski silks for years, they do the job. Basically they're like panty hose but you can buy them from Cabela's so I figure it's OK. They really do work and they're comfortable, you don't even know you're wearing them. Two piece, top and bottom. Cost about $40 a set and well worth the money, a set lasts several years. Eventually I seem to blow the seat outa them though.

I treat my pants with tick repellant, and then I tuck my pants in my boots and use a pair of gaiters. These gaitors are like 8 inches long and just cover the boot to pants area that ticks will crawl into. They are elastic and you dont even know you have them on. They work good. This works good, and Gn I will wear some spandex or somethig like that but never pantyhose.

I just don't know what color? or do you get the ones that make you slimmer?

I would hate to get the next Va record, and look fat in the picture!

Just a thought
