When do you find the most of'em???I love morels. I get real serious about looking for them while I am turkey hunting. I always wonder what weather condtions make for the best mushroom/morel years down here in southern applachia? I think it takes some good rain and then a real strong warm spell in early April...what is your theory? Dryland fish and hickory chickens are other names for them. Cook them while fresh in skillet wit h a little butter and some seasoning salt and pepper(or just by themselves) and your turkey day will be complete. Here is a good web site, if you want a yankee's view of them...http://www.bright.net/~wildwood/index.html ... apparently there are places in Iowa and the midwest where you can pick bushels of them at a time . I have never seen that kind of place here but I have filled some big grocery bags in a day. Any of you real serious about them?
