Has anyone ever planted Chufa? Just curious because the NWTF has a good sale on it. I know that GN told me that it was hard to grow, so before I spend the money I wanted to see if anyone was able to get it to grow. I do know that if it takes, the turkeys love it. Any comments welcomed.

clarifying my comments earlier, we tried to grow some in a friends farm in Hanover county, where it did sort of ok because the soil was slightly sandy...in true appalachia soil where there is little sand and more clay like content it does not do as well I think. It wants soil exactly like the kind where peanuts prosper as it is a very similar plant. I do not know if NWTF has soils info but ask them too. turkeys do really love it if it take, that part is dead on.
