Have you seen any new products recently that you will "have to have" for the upcoming spring hunting? I am looking for a really lightweight pair of snippers (for cutting limbs or branches) ...the ones I have been carrying for some years must weigh 3 pounds , and I would love to find a really light fiberg;lass handle, ceramic(gulp) cutting blade version if anybody has seen something like that? Anything you have to have?

If you are thinking about using Nitro shells this Spring (which I HIGHLY recommend) you may want to go ahead and order some now .It may take a while to see which load shoots best in your gun/choke combination , although Ray will definitely give you his opinions . If you wait until March you can forget about getting thru on the phones.

Gobblenow, hmmmm still wanting the 1187 supermag :-) i got a deal for the pruners/snippers. There made by Gerber and come with a sheath. I think they were $10.00 at Wal-mart. There pretty good size and don't weigh a thing. Scott

Well guys you know I am like the rest of us that really dont NEED anything, but I am sure there will be a few new things that I will just HAVE TO HAVE. The leafy camo is awesome, I had it last year. I like the light weight pruner idea because mine are a bit bulky. I am sure that I will buy some new call that I will play with before season to then just let in stay in the vest because I will stick to old faithful. The new shot is a good idea but I remember someone said last year, how do you improve on dead, and thats what I have found with the Winchester HV shells the last few years they are awesome. Happy Holidays!!

The Hevi-shot has me intrigued as well...I think I may have been the one that said dead is dead, but we all seem to want dead further out or dead in a bigger circle. Anyway, the stuff must be pretty lethal , if the NWTF still target competition is a fair test.

I am going to try the hevi-shot too. Does any of you know what allowances for choke sizes need to be made for hevi-shot?

Don't know for a fact , but I have heard that Hevi-shot can be tough on your gun barrel .

GN- I got mine in the sporting goods department at the new wal-mart in Bluefield VA. But I have seen them at the valley view wal-mart in the sporting goods section. I got my new Turkey Call mag in the mail today.... If you look in it in the Mack's Prairie Wings section he has a real nice Ratche-Cut pair of pruners with a sheath. It weighs 3 1/2 ounces and will cut a 3/4" limb. Sounds nice! They also have a web page at htt://www.macksprairiewings.com

I would like to get one of those H.S. Strut turkey seats before this comming spring season starts. My seat cushion isn't cutting the mustard anymore because my tailbone was killing me this past spring from all the sitting that I did!!

Guys let me tell you about the seats...THEY ARE GREAT. You can sit for a long time without anyhting going to sleep, and it positions you so your knees are up. I let a few guys try mine and they went out and bought one for themselves. I would also like to try the boots so give us a report on them whoever trys them out.

If you're looking for some lightweight ratchet pruners you can find some really cheap at Home Depot. They are by Village Blacksmith. Go to Home Depot and search for:

Village Blacksmith
Ratchet Action Hand Pruner
Model: #67-414-10
SKU: #275613

Click here to see picture of them.

I recently got a blind called a "jake house" it is the best up and down in about 10 seconds (not like most that say this , it reallly works) I would recoment this to all for spring and fall. Also mossy oak shadow leaf is a great pattern for camo and there super elite 2 vest to nice. They work very well.

OK guys the new Cabelas Turkey edition is out, and there are some cool things in there that I am going to try. One of them is a pair of Camoskinz gloves that are supposed be like not wearing any at all. Also I see that the Remington Heavi Shot is featured. A new look from mouth calls by MAD also. They have a flipover mouth call, ANYONE USE ONE YET?
