I am reading posts about the gobbling going down. I thought it was just peaking. Geeze, I have only had 3 Saturdays out. How can it be on the down slope already?

From what I've heard while out hunting is that it hasn't happened yet. I have been out 8 times already and have heard a grand total of two birds gobble. That is it. This is truely a disappointing season so far.

This is one of the wierdest years I have ever seen. Gobbling is really sporadic so far. Yesterday I had 2 birds gobble for an hour and a half and unfortunately hens screwed me again. But I went to the same area again this morning and didn't hear a single gobble. May be several days before I hear them again. I have been out a lot of mornings and no peak here. Most days I haven't heard a thing. Been like this all season. Really disappointing but I am gonna stay after em'.

Guys,

Just because birds in one area peak it dosen't mean they ALL have. I hunt lowland farm country, the green up there is two weeks ahead of higher elevation birds.
The best may be yet to come on these birds. I'm heading to the mountains this weekend and expecting some decent hunting.
Hang in there. Keep going out. They will start up.

The peak of the Gobblin is tomorrow. I have hunted every day except three. The gobblin has been sporadic at best, and when they have gobbled, it has been for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then cut off! I think most of you will find that the birds will be very talkative this week!Good Luck!
