I took the dog out around 6:30 this am and heard a turkey fly down. I decided to sit still and listen to the woods behind the house for a few minutes. Heard several hens and what sounded like poults. Saw a gobbler -- he passed by me at about 40 yards. So much action I was almost late for work! This is only the second time I have heard them behind the house and the first time I have seen one. Very cool experience. |

Man that's great! Nothing like setting on your deck and hearing/seeing turkeys in the back yard. Keep us updated on any poult sightings. I'm a little worried about our hatch with the wet weather we had during the first part of this month. |
