Thursday morning I could of had my second bird of the season but, due to some saplings in the way of his head and neck I couldn't get a clear shot!!! Another tom was gobbling right behind me and I was pinned down and couldn't move. Finally the first bird either spotted something he didn't like or didn't like the looks of my decoy and spooked, with the second bird circling around me to hook back up with his buddy. The vegetation was so high and thick in this spot I couldn't see the bird in back only hear him gobble his dang head off. I spent the rest of the morning trying to head them off but after 9:30am they shut down. Man, so dang close!!! Well, I feel good that at least I got one gobbler this spring, common 2002!!!

Don't they always have a way of keeping something between them! Congrats on a great season and just think... those 2 will be bigger next year! ;o)

Sounds like what happens to me on a daily basis. Oh well, at least it was exciting.
