wing nut: I can get 2-3 seasons out of a mouth call and this is what I do. After each hunt I wash my calls with warm water and lay them on a paper towel to air dry. Once they are dry, I put them in a container and keep them in the refrigerator until the next hunt. I've had good luck with it, give it a try. Kevin Lee

That is a good thing to do Gobbler Getter it helps them from drying out. If you are hunting and the call goes "sour" it's because the latex has swelled up from the saliva in the mouth. There are a few calls on the market that have a special latex that helps prevent this one is as Knight and Hale half moon cutter. It sounds good and calls well all the time. Also try to put a flat tooth pick between the reeds of the call when you store them that keeps the reeds from sticking. I also put them in the fridge, I have calls that I have had for years, my wife thinks I'm crazy. When you take them out for the next days hunt leave the tooth picks in and run some warm water over the reeds and this also helps the from drying as you go to your hunt, but pull out the tooth pick when you go to use the call to hunt (HaHA):)

Keeping a tooth pick between reeds or the new product out from Quaker Boy "The call saver" is a great way to save your calls. Also I agree with Turkey 576000 keep them in the fridge after hunting. I will also rinse them with mouth wash, then warm water to kill the germs and bacteria that form.
