I sure wish that I could say that I took two monster Ohio birds while I was down there for the last three days, but no such luck. We heard birds every single morning and even worked a few, but they appeared to be henned up big time down there!! After one or two gobbles from the roost, that was it!! Frustrating for sure!! Some guys got a couple of huge gobblers "beard and Spur" wise!! Three had 1 1/2" or better spurs!! Yep, lady luck didn't shine down on me this trip. Now it's back to hunting for bird #2 here in NY!! |

Are ya'all measuring those spurs right , fromthe edge of the skin or from the middle of the leg. those are awesome birds and you just don't see 1 1/2 that much. If you are, you have my admiration. |

Diablo, I was hunting with Clyde from BeardBusters in Morgan county, Reinersville to be exact!! Awesome country down there!! There season, foilage wise, is about 3 weeks ahead of us here in NY. Talk about green up or what!! Field grass was thigh high!! I took some pic's from this trip, and will post them as soon as I finish off the roll!! |

WVBOY, yep, I sure was!! I've met Tim for the very first time down in Columbus, Ohio back in 2001 at the NWTF Convention. He's on the Knight & Hale pro staff along with a good friend of mine, Chuck Tiranno as well. About 15 of us from Huntamerica at the time met down there at the Knight & Hale booth, Freddie and Amy were there as well on that trip. That's how I met them as well!! Tim sure get's around in the turkey woods doesn't he!! I'll post some pic's of the recent trip soon. |
