The guy I use lives in Madison Heights just North of Lynchburg his name is Kip Hughes. His stuff was on display in Harrisonburg this year, he is excellent. One bit of advice spent the extra money for the freeze dried head they look a hundred times better if the tax. knows what he is doing. Try Kip he is very good.

Ditto on Kip. He's done 2 birds for me and one for a friend. All 3 look great. Definitely spend a few extra $ and get a freeze dried head.

There is a guy in the eastern Panhandle of WVa (about an hour or so from Sterling/Dulles) that does freeze dried heads and he is very good as well. James Taxidermy, I believe he is located in Shenandoah Junction, very close to Harpers Ferry/Charles Town area. Not sure of his pricing for turkeys. 30+ years in the business, retired biology teacher now. (he has a buck I shot this year-haven't gotten it back yet, that may be his draw back, he will take a minimum of 12 months to complete most mounts).

Good luck and congrats on the bird, I am sure Hody has pointed you towards a great tax man as well.

McQuires Taxidermy In Christiansburg VA. 540-382-9608. He does do the freeze dried heads. He is also very reasonable. He is also a turkey hunter so he knows what they are supposed to look like. Birds are his specialty!

For the absolute best, freeze your bird and send it by 2-day delivery to one of the Morris brothers in Missouri. These guys do nothing but turkeys and are National Champion Turkey Taxidermists. They are in all the taxidermy books and are called upon to give turkey mounting seminars at taxidermy conventions nation wide. It costs a little more due to shipping, but the quality is as good as it gets.

Kip Hughes in Madison Heights does a great job with turkey mounts. My friend had two done and I had a flying mount done. All three look great.

P.S. get the freeze dried head

Ben
