Amy and I just got back from a great trip to SC to hunt/visit with our great friend Diablo and his family. We were also joined on a couple hunts by one of Jeff's friends and we had a great time.

We mostly waterfowl hunted but got in a predator hunt one day. We saw a few coyotes but we saw them while we were duck hunting (story of my life). First morning there I had 2 coyotes walk across the top of a beaver dam about 25 yards from me and the last morning Amy spotted a 'yote that came down to the water on the other side of the lake. We got a good look at that one but were useless holding only our shotguns and he was 65 yards away. Interesting to see anyway. A side note to the predator hunt was my first encounter with fire-ants. Not fun...

The duck/goose hunting was good but our shooting was not... we missed plenty and killed a few (those woodies fly FAST! :)) We managed to take a few wood ducks the first morning and I was lucky enough to take a goose the second morning. We had shots everyday and got to experience some beautiful sights and sounds (and smells thanks to a huge beaver, but that's another story! )

Thanks again to Diablo and his family and also to Greg! We had a wonderful time as usual and look forward to our next adventure...

This is where we hunted, the woodies, and the goose...

We definitely had a blast! I think I have the answer to our shooting problems...smaller bore surface to air missiles.

Freddie and Amy,
Just an FYI - went down to "Amy's Blind" this morning. The water had come up at least 8" - the point was almost totally under water. I had 5 flocks of geese land on the lake, 6 puddle ducks (gadwalls) and close to 20 woodies...not counting the few ducks that flew high overhead. Several of the geese were within 15yards of the blind. Footnote...no decoys and no calling. All the action occurred between 7am and 7:40am. Oh yes and there were a few ducks at the head of the little pond as well...guess I'll need to get after again before too long.

Sounds like a good hunt folks. Too bad you did not take a yote to top it all off. Great pics, sounds like everyone had a good time, and got a sore shoulder from all the misses, HA HA
