Hey all, Went out Thurday Morning (thanksgiving day) to do aq little turkey hunting.. At daylight I heard a coyote howl it sounded like a yip yip then followed by another yip yip. Is this a coyote if so how can I ride my land of this treat. I did kill a nice hen and she was yummy. This is just a little question. I would be happy to let someone teach me how to predator hunt it seems fun and a awsome challenge. Jon |

Turkey576, Hey man! I'm still new on the whole coyote hunting thing. I was trying to call them in up in Craig County on National Forest land but all the sign has disapered. Though the fox sign is quite abundent. There are three pages that I have read over many times and have talked with two of the webmasters that are very helpful. Here are the links..... Bill’s Coyote Page http://wcp-nm.com/coyotes/ Varmint Al’s Coyote Page http://www.cctrap.com/~varmint/ahunt.htm Predator Masters http://www.predatormastersforums.com/ Even though alot of the information you will find on the web will be about hunting yotes out west the same applications still apply. You will need to be aware of your camo, scent, wind direction etc... much like deer and turkey hunting combined All calls seem to do the trick depending on what you like. I havn't tried an open reed call yet but have been using a Lohman Circe mid-range rabitt in distress. I'll give you a little heads up that the western predator hunters forgot to mention to me... bears like to come in to a calling setup!! They used the excuse that Texas doesn't have bears..... darn texans |

I bagged a yodle dog last week while deer hunting in Tazewell county. At least 4 of them came through chasing a deer. I bleated with my voice and one ran up to 20 yards where I dropped him. So my advice is go hunting for something else and hope you get lucky! |
