I talked to a friend tonight who will be hunting in Roanoke County saturday. He said you guys are covered up in mast. Would it be possible for you guys to load up your excess and air drop it over Tazewell and Bland counties? The state is air dropping rabies vacine down here now, so I thought maybe mast relief would be possible. If not an air drop, maybe at least UPS to my residence. I'll distribute from here.

Mudfork,
I just pulled back in from Bland County :( Dad & I went up on Brushy this afternoon and looked all around for mast :( I found very very very few nuts but did find some (not much) wild grapes. They were in random spots, with one vine having them and then forever away another vine. Have a feeling it could be a bad winter.

Thought I would bump this one up to see what you guys are seeing in the way of mast. Scott and I were out in the National Forest on the Montgomery/Giles county boarder yesterday in search of a flock to bust. NO MAST!!! We searched high and low and the only mast we found was left overs from last year and a few wild grapes in one spot. The white oaks in my yard in Roanoke have covered the ground with beautiful fat acorns. What are you guys seeing??

Zero mast, and almost zero buck sign! I'm beginning to think the only buck sign I'm going to find here in SWVA is a track with a buck standing in it. I personally don't think mountain deer rub and scrape as much in poor mast years.
