driving back from a late afternoon grouse hunt, I passed a field where some of Tenn's introduced elk herd hang out. Just off the road I noticed a huge elk, perhaps 6x6(light was fading)..and to his right 50 yds there were two other bulls locked up and pushing each other all over the place...I stopped the vehicle and watched this tussle for 5 minutes...they moved a lot of dirt and tore up a lot of ground in that time...for all I know they are still at it as they were still wrestling as I drove off... cool to see that in this part of the world. |

Wow, I'm jealous. Seeing elk in a natural habitat behaving as wild elk must be incredible. |

Careful there gn - those have 4 legs, no wings, and are a lot like deer, only bigger!! |

Last year my grouse dog pointed one (cow)over the edge of a seteep bank...pretty excititng flush Bill.... |
