Got to see my first turkey fight the other day.Had to work the sunday and most of the time take the service roads home and stay off the interstate. That way i get to pass several big farms with open fields.

Almost always see several turkeys and deer in those fields. Sunday there was 3 gobblers feeding around. so i pulled over got my binocs. and glassed them.I noticed that one birds stayed away from the other two. And thought he was the boss bird but when he got close to the other birds one of them would jump up and kick at him. the lone gobbler would run 10-15 yards and start feeding again and picking at his feathers cleaning himself and the other two would start feeding toward him and when they got close one of the would run at him and try and spur him. and hit him several times.

it was real neat the lone gobbler would be preening his feathers and one of the two birds would walk all most backwards to him and try to kick him. While he was doing this the other gobbler just laid down on his belly and watched at least that what it looked like from wear i was setting. then up in the field i flock of about 20 came feeding out hens, jennies, and looked like 8-9 jakes. They saw that one bird bullying the other one and stayed away. Last Friday saw these same birds and saw one red head chasing the other on in circles guess that was when it all stared. Oh yeah hunt club leases this farm no chance of getting to hunt it but sure was fun watching them. Spent almost an hour watching them . Can't wait until this spring
